Can a Cataract return after Cataract Eye Surgery?

Send to a friend

A cataract cannot return after cataract surgery because the natural lens has been removed. However, in about 10% of all people who have cataract surgery, the lens capsule later becomes cloudy. This cloudiness of the lens capsule, if it occurs, usually develops a year or more after initial cataract surgery. It causes similar vision problems to cataract ones. The treatment for this condition is a procedure called a YAG Laser Capsulotomy.
